1966 F100 Frame off Project
Hello everyone I am new here, but in my short time here I have learned so much. This site is awesome thanks to everyone for making it so. I have recently started a complete restoration on a 1966 F100 that has been in our barn for the last 15 years. The guy that I got the truck from had started restoring it, but his quality of work was, how should I say it, lacking.<O</O
<O</O
I started by digging the truck out from under years of junk that has been piled up around it. Next I thought I would see if it would crank. Put a little fresh gas in the tank and a splash in the carb. With in a few revolutions of the motor she fired off as though she had been running all along. <O</O
<O</O
Now that she is running like a champ lets put her in gear and see if she will move. With a little throttle and easing off the clutch she started moving. Moving wasn’t the problem stopping soon became my concern due the breaks not working at all. With no breaks I can't resist taking her for a spin around the farm. With a awesome sunset I stopped by the pond for a quick photo shoot. <O</O
<O</O
The next day I spend six hours pressure washing 44+ years of grease and grime from the old girl, which I mite add was not fun at all. After that I got her up on the trailer and took her to the house where I will have more time to work on her in the evenings. <O</O
<O</O
That’s enough of me rambling, here are some pictures of what has been done so far.

I need to comment on your photography. The second picture is just awesome. You obviously have some skill, or a nice camera, or a combination of both, or you just got really lucky, or are highly proficient at Photoshop. Either way, and there are lots of ways the photography could have gone, that photo is fantastic from an artistic point of view. Btw, are you in GA? It has a GA plate on the front. If so, what part are you in?

Right now my only plan is to get her put back together. <V</VI plan on powder coating as much of the under carriage as possible, also I am looking to re-zinc all of the original fasteners and hardware. I am open for ideas, if you have any let me know. Well I am heading out the door and hopefully I will have the bed off tonight.
