The key word there...
That's part of why I'm ID bound. That, plus I can buy a house for what I pay in rent in CA...
thats why it got its own posting lol.... ya, idaho prices went up big time because people from cali were escaping there and oregon. you can find rent here as low as 500 for a 2br apt/condo. its not bad all over. mainly at the coast and the high tourist areas.

I was living in Santa Cruz, CA. Nightmare for rent, since the college kids' folks will pay the $700+ to rent their kid a room in a black mold infested s****hole... I was getting a steal at $550 a month for a room in a black mold infested s***hole...
Almost everyone I know in Cali that doesn't own a home is bailing for OR, WA, MT, CO, etc. Guess the beach just isn't evening the scales with the ridiculous living cost.
I'm Pocatello bound. $150+ for a studio, $400+ to rent a house. With a minimum wage $1 under Cali, and no economic recession to speak of (in other words, there IS WORK), I think I'll make out pretty well... That, and I have no problem with a small town with about 30 bars...
Damn, did I just give away a well kept secret?
i was born in watsonville, next town south of there. then lived in moss landing next town south of that. buying a house was only 125k in the 90's. it spiked to 650 or so and back down to 250. and im planning on moving out to idaho somewhere. been wanting to for years but cant afford the move yet.
I know Watsonville all too well, and if it weren't for the massive gang problem that's spread there from Salinas, I would've been living there a while ago.
...And Moss Landing. I've had my weekend trips to Pick N' Pull and Phil's Fish Market for a lot of years. Absolutely love it there.
Glad to hear you're one of the folks heading N.E. of Cali. Let me know when/if you make it out there. Never yet had a bad experience meeting anyone from FTE.
Another reason I'm moving out there. Don't have to get my guns confiscated for shooting off the road.
Drinking cold beers and shooting clay pigeons with no fear of the cops or park rangers coming to run your numbers is an incredible feeling (proof I've been in Cali too long now). Not like walking a mile down a steep hill to get out of the 'no fire' zone in NorCal, and still waiting and worrying for the cops to show up...
ya, im down to meet up with any of you idaho guys. maybe we can all meet up with sycostang at one of the dyno days.
No argument there. I'll be in the SE corner in a month, but seeing as I can drive across the state in less time than it takes me to get from Los Angeles to the Bay, I'm not too worried about meeting up with folks.
Oreo, what area were you looking to move to, anyway?
