Howdy all.I guess tonight I am going change my front rotos and brake pads. This is the last thing I want to do after only having the truck for 7 months and 6,000 miles
later Bill.
Neil it has 31,000 miles.I stopped at the dealer wear I bought it(used). They looked at the records when I bought it and went threw the checks and they told be the brakes werent replaced on front they were like new but the back ones were changed.
So it looks like the fronts are the originals ?? That seems to be about right from what I have experienced with my truck (about 30-35k per brake job). It also seems weird that the rear ones were replaced and not the fronts because as we all know, the front brakes provide more stopping power than the rears. I usually go through 2 sets of pads up front for each set in the rear.
Years ago I had a 96 f-150.When I bought it it had 65,000 miles on it.Never put rear brake shoes on it and only 2 sets of front brake pads.Never replaced or turned down rotors or drums.Yes I always checked every year the rear brakes. No rust in the drums always shinny. When I traded it off it had 140,000 miles on it.
