I'm not sure on the exact issue and how exactly to go about replacing the small incandescent lights, however the entire control panel can be removed, and from there could be assessed to find a solution? If you do it, make a write up and we can all learn from there. In my searching I have only heard of entire control panel replacements. But my thoughts are always "somebody put it together, so this somebody can take it apart!"

Hopefully its just a regular ole peanut size bulb you can get in any parts aisle. If its anything like the bulb behing the 4x4 switch its goofy looking and looks like some money, still haven't replaced it. Somebody will be by soon..

Im not sure what kind of bulb is in the ac panel, but I know the bulb that backlights my headlight switch was out for a while. I had to take apart the unit and replaced it with an LED. Its real tiny, smaller than the bulbs that are in the door panel courtesy lights.
