I have a 1986 f150 short box that i did a sas on 4 years ago, now the body is falling off! I found a 1996 f150 short box that is rust free, so i was wondering about a complete swap, what is going to be the problem areas. if it is a full body swap, does that mean that it should go fairly easy or is this going to be a pain! will the brakes work with the newer booster? do i need to use the newer starter? if so will the newer starter work with my flywheel?
You've got to remember there is a computer in the 96 that controls the dash , transmission and all.All your connectors will be different you will have to make them up as you go.There are companies out there that make harness to do what you want.I have not done this year model swap but look at the body mount bolt patterns you may have to modify them. You can do what you are looking to do but it wont be done overnight it will take you sometime.
