Not sure if a thread like this has already been made,but I thought this might be a cool idea.

What do you guys wish your truck had come with from factory? What do you wish Ford offered on our trucks that wasn't offered?

For me,I wish my truck had:

-Ranger Lariat trim instead of Custom
-Factory CB
-Four Wheel Drive
-Light Group Option.

I wish Ford had offered:

-Factory Brush Guard option on any truck,not just Free Wheelers.
-Chrome trim around the area above the glove box.


I'm sure there's more, I just can't think of them now.

 

My truck came with no options except the reduced noise package, it literally has nothing power, the only accessory on the engine is the alternator. And I love it. Simple, straightforward, and reliable.

I do wish that it had come with some sort of rust protection/undercoating package, maybe it would've saved my bed for a bit longer. I also wish that they wouldn't have used padding underneath the rubber floor mat, all it did was trap water to cause more rot and make a nice stink when I went to remove it.
One thing that would've been nice, is if Ford had stopped trying to be creative with their front suspension, and just gone with dual a-arm IFS on 2wd models, and a solid axle on 4x4 models. This twin i-beam crap sure makes it hard to do any sort of modification or customization.

 

You want dual a arm or solid axles in an 80s truck? Go buy a chevy

 

I liked the look of my 86 Stepside, the only things I wish it had was a tripometer, 4 wheel drive, and all the "smart" computer wiring and sensors all ripped out.

It was pretty much the opposite of what I want in a truck, I wish the cab had two more doors, needed an 8 foot box, dual rear wheels, 460 with a c6, these are other things I wish my truck had.

For my 1986 F150:

--tachometer
--trip odometer
--a better manual transmission (it has the 4 speed OD, which were prone to problems, and the overdrive is gutless on even small grades)
--bed light
--maybe clearance lights on top of cab, if they never leaked
