The doors on my F-150 supercab are sagging. I replaced the hinge pins & bushings on the driver's side today and it only helped a little. The driver's door still sags 1/4-3/8in unless you slam it shut. How do you fix this?
Almost everytime I have seen or heard of sagging doors replacing the hinge pins fixed it. How much does it sag now and how much before replacing them? Are you sure its still sagging and that it doesn't just need to have the striker adjusted?
Well, I guess they don't really sag now, the latch end of the door is about 3/8 or so low. Can you adjust the hinges? The door lines up with the rest of the cab if you slam the door. It only latches all the way when you slam it.
loosen the bolts that attach the hinge to the door and adust a bit, you should be able to find a spot where it seats properly on the door striker when you close it and looks good when looking at where the edges and space match the body all around the door so to speak. Take a look at your nylon bushing on the door striker. Mine needed to be replaced as the door being out of alignment wore it away on top. Mine came in a set of "bushings" for the tailgate in the "help" section of the autoparts store. Two bushings in the pack were sized for the tail gate striker plate and two were the same size as the bushing on the door striker plate I needed to replace. Good luck.
As long as you're speakin from experience, I'm fine.lol. Most people I know just run their trucks til they die & buy another. It pi$$es me off. This is my first truck and I plan to keep it a while.

If the door lines up with the cab, then why adjust the door. I think adjusting the striker bolt makes more sense. Do the striker bolts still have the nylon bushing on them?
Me and wife have been married 27 years, since I was 20 and she was 19. Hers sag a bit now but I still love her, and them, as much or more than I did 27 years ago.
Now, on to the problem at hand. The hinges are probably ok and the striker bolt has moved from being forced into the door for so many years. It likely just needs to be moved up a touch. I ran into this on a 92 Explorer I used to own.
