I'd be tempted to remove the striker pin, then inspect the door fully shut...just to make sure that it doesn't need re-aligned at the hinges.

That is redundant. Actually though every tool I have ever bought at HF looks "brand new" because every one of them I ever bought have broken by the time I finished the job and got a new replacement.

Gotta love that lifetime warranty.

I do have the Torx sockets from HF and they are a good investment. Haven't broke one, yet.

I wonder if the Great Neck ones from A'zone are the same as the ones from HF, cause I have broken one of those with little effort.
