My hubby is replacing is pickup box/bed (2000 F250 SD 7.3l), and had to cut the bolts loose. He had a little sticker shock at the replacement cost of each individual bolt. I thought I'd check online if there are used ones available, but I don't know what to call them! Can you tell me what the proper term is for these box mount bolts? Thanks!

Yes, the bed bolts are not cheap. You may want to call around to different dealerships to see if you can get a better price, or contact Ed to see what his prices look like.
". . . one logger to another . . ."
If you're in the logging industry, then you understand why the original box took such a beating!
If anything can pound a truck, it's bush roads, firewood, employees, and tools.
He recently bought a used Dodge also, because of the price, but he much prefers his good old '00 F250 SD and it's engine!

yup - I bought my '03 SD as a surplussed fleet vehicle from a mining company in Louisiana. They had attached a heavy piece of steel plate in the bed perhaps maybe even 5/8 inch thick? They removed it for re-use in another truck, but it definitely had saved the bed floor of what is now my truck. Your husband may be able to find a good piece of plate to save some wear and tear on his new replacement bed, but I know that won't help with the sides and wheel-wells.

A-men to that. GM makes a fine enough product and all, but any time any of the GM guys I know want to start tryin' to give me any grief, I just tell 'em to drive up and down the highway. What kind of trucks do you see the oil field companies driving? Take a look on ANY construction site. Now tell me. What truck is it you're most likely to see on those job sites? Case closed. Anybody that has to work a truck for a living is going to know. You just can't beat the SuperDuty.
I have a complete used spare set of the 8 bolts(6 long and 2 short all with frame clips )at a reasonable price left over from the swap I just did. Send me a message and ill contact you.
