Stack Exhaust anyone?

Ok I'm here to help. lol Well maybe just shed some light. I've seen the stack kits and Didn't particularly like them since the Y is in the bed and you loose almost a foot of bed space. Anyway I happened to luck out and knew someone with a set of 8ft long Frieghtliner stacks. I cut them of course, about 2 ft off. Heres how I've got mine set up:
looking from the front of truck:
Here is the Y underneath. As you can see I made it so it comes out at the right spot for the pass side stack. Its also low enough to go under the frame. The pipe for the driver's side goes between the fuel tank and bed. Also that soot splatter is from a small hole I drilled just to let water out so it doesn't sit in it. I've also taken extra precaution with the heat around the tank and put some foil insulation to protect the tank and lines and stuff. (and to keep me from blowing up. lol)
This is the driver's side stack with a 90 elbow:
Ultimately the final result:
There ya go. Maybe that'll give you an idea or two.

Mikeyc0120... That is a pretty sweet set up too. I havn't seen that before (and honestly didn't see how it could work because of the fuel tank... but hey eng-r-neering is fun ain't it?) I especially like that #14 on the back window as well... HELL YA!
But I'm not too worried about losing some area in my bed. Right now it's a daily driver back and forth to work so I don't use the bed much. (and living in an apartment limits large projects needing trips to home depot). My plan, howver, is that when I have some time off to build/modify a tool box that will fit over the pipes in the bed. Sort of so the pipes are routed through the box. Obviously separate from the insides so it's still usuable for all the tools, but integrated so I won't lose any more space than having a tool box. Got to maximize space in a short bed

I know Martika, it is a long standing joke between Danny and myself, he has wanted stacks for a long time, even more so since I put them on my truck, So any chance we get to say that they are needed.......we take!! You have to have fun even in a bad situation!!

Yeah! But remember it does'nt take much to give in to temptation! So Try and help him out a little! I honestly think he is better off getting the studs instead of stacks or anything else. especially since he is so dam rough on it & I am sure he is going to be getting more mods done!! He is like tim Taylor , More power!!! argh!!!

Hey Danny , We were'nt arguing!! You know me & my big mouth! I was just telling Jim that you did not need any further temptation! And thank god, you got the studs! I am very proud of you!! You will not regret that! Trust me!! If you blow the engine again you will be divorced & living in the truck! So might I suggest be a lil nicer with your mistress in Red !!! ;-) Stacks , Yeah right!!!
