Top Tier Gas?
Has anybody noticed a performance or fuel economy improvement on Cali's "Top Tier" gas? Chevron, 76 and Mobil? I have been using Costco 87 gas as much as I can because those fuel seem to be 15 to 25 cents a gallon more. It adds up at 12.4 mpg.

The difference between "Top tier" and the Costco, Safeway type gas is the additive package. At the refinery the gas is exactly the same. The top tier type has a cleaning additive package added to the tanker truck load. Other than slowing the build ups (Coking) in the intake manifold and valves there is no difference in performance.
