need advice fast

hey i got a 79 bronco with the 400. i know not the best motor but i mud race and the class i am in you have to have the stock motor. the only thing you can do is have 33 and exhaust. well i want to win so i need to know if that motor ever had a cast iron 4 barrel intake? if so how do i find one and what would be a good cam, not something you can hear but will help with power. let me know asa p thanks!!! and if any other heads will fit on it for more compression... anything for cheap horspower but lookin stock thanks

No, on the intake. Ford made a few experimental ones but you won't find one. Lunati makes a Voodoo line of cams that idle pretty good. I'd do a good port and polish on the heads. Get a set of TMI's zero deck pistons to get the compression up & get it balanced. You are going to have to do a good engine build if you want to win, there are bound to be competitors there that have already built some strong stock looking engines.
