Hi all, dumb question here. I have a 2006 F250 c/c LB and I am curious if anybody had an idea of how much fuel is left in the tank when the low fuel light comes on?

mine kicks on at 40-45mi to empty.i dont let it get that low though
it comes on with 50 miles to empty. so about 3-4 gallons. you can also get a p115a codes and forced fuel limit power. the p115a will happen when fli value is 2%

Really sorry to revive a 6 1/2 year old thread but there's not a whole lot about this. Any way to get rid of this code or suppress the misery it causes? I have a full tank, that's 40 gallons in a cab-n-chassis and my sender decided to croak. My gauge is well below empty. I have this code and a rhythmic stumble about every 2 seconds. Accelerates fine, idles smooth, but when cruising there is the stumble. I know I need to fix the sender but the tank is full right now.
Having a Cab & Chassis you have an opportunity for another issue beside faulty sensor. The steel tanks have a coating inside known to peel and clog filters, lines, and pickups. Be sure when you pull it EMPTY the tank completely. Inspect the fuel coming out, filters, and the inside of the tank walls along with the pickup tube and sending unit.

Great advice! Been there, done that. I replaced it with a poly tank a while back.
In case some search brings a reader here, I temporary suppressed the limp mode by unplugging the sender. I can get to it where my gooseneck hitch is. The gauge doesn't work anyway but it got rid of the P115a code and the stumble.
