I had a quick question about tune ups and if they should be performed on a regular basis or only when you start to notice problems. I usually associated tune-ups on other vehicles I owned with problems that would start appearing on those vehicles. For example, low idle, misfire, poor acceleration, hard starts...stuff like that. Most of the time a tune corrected some or all of those problems.
That brings me to my question, are tune ups to be performed reqularly or when you see engine performance degrade? I am just trying to decide on this issue because its been quite a long time since I tuned my Bronco up, like a couple of years long. But I don't really have any problems on starting, acceleration or idle. I still have a lot of power and peformance. Any suggesstions would be appreciated. With all that said...my Bronco is running great...should I get a tune up just to be on the safe side?
I personaly believe a routine tune-up peridocally will keep your engine in its peak performance. I do a tune-up at the bare minimm of yearly, and more often than not twice a year.
You may not notice the lack of performance, but I am sure your engine does.
