Inline oilcooler
I just purchased a used F250 with a 351w in it and I went to change the oil and noticed that a stock FL1-A filter won't fit due to a inline oil cooler (I think) installed in front of the oil filter. It is inline from the bottom radiator hose. Am I correct in guessing this is a aftermarket part and is not from the factory? Is it worth leaving on? There used to be a plow on the truck and I assume they used the truck for business purposes. I don't plan on regularly hauling heavy trailers or big loads.

I went to motorcraft.com & did a search. If your truck is a 1994 (I just picked a random year), it lists part# FL-820S. You can use the link to verify for other years. I hope this helps.
