little cubby hole in dash

I have a 2000 EX, it has the little hole in the dash next to the cup holder. Is there supposed to be a pad or something inside it? I cant put anything in it because it just falls back out. Surely there is a rubber pad or something that came in the hole?

That hole is on a slight decline but make your own pad and glue it in. My sun glasses and extra sunglasses go in there but have never fallen out.

There is a pad for it. But even with the pad if you take off to fast from a stop the stuff will still fall out. I put a small piece of padding from my RV that you put in the cabinets to keep plates from sliding around under the pad. Works like a charm.

FWIW, I also put some of this stuff on top of my washer to keep the stuff on top from vibrating off during the spin cycle.

Some trims levels don't have it?............how chintze of Ford. My 2000 Limited doesn't have it. I imagine a piece of weatherstripping in the front would help but it is on a decline and all my sunglasses always stay in there.

Does it just sit in the hole, or does it have nipples that snap in to holes?

Yep, it just sits there. My 2000 came with one. I occasionally stick a fuel receipt in there, but thats about it. My CB being mounted where it is pretty much makes that cubby-hole useless.
