How in the heck do you drive around in the 140hp tune? Every little tiny bump in the road I happen to hit makes my foot slightly pop the pedal which in turn romps the truck. Is there some trick which can be done to more or less control this touchy pedal so I can run my 140? I was going to email Jody and ask him the same question. Thanks .............A frustrated 140 guy!! Tunes are great but we need to be able to have some control when a bump in the road occurs.....Maxx
Have you done the hot pedal mod? if so might wanna undo the hot pedal mod and just stick with the IVS mod. Other than that the only way to get the touchy pedal to go away is through the tunes. They probably have your fuel ramping up so fast for very little TPS movement that its responding to every little bit of pedal movement.
No I have not done the Hot Pedal Mod. I sent a question to DP tuner a few minutes ago. Hoping I can send the chip to them and Jody can modify it slightly. Bummer not being able to drive in 140..........thanks
I would call them up right quick. Jody is a good guy and is always willing to help. Probably just one little tweak they need to make that isn't very serious, just enough to make it touchy. I know on the 3 trucks i have driven with DP Tuners they could all drive in the big tune with out being touchy.
The 140 tune is usually not intended for casual around town driving.
I had the same problem in the 120 tune. Not the pedal but too fast. Now I run on the 100 tune.
Just turn the chip down a notch or two then crank it up when you need that much power. Usually you don't need that kind of power around town.
Jody calls this "tip in" it is how sensitive the pedal is as you accelerate. The aggressive tunes have aggressive "tip in".
For me there is no other way to drive except in the higher levels. I dont drive like tomorrrow is my last day on Earth. I just like the feel of the higher tunes, except the 140 as stated. Thanks for giving me the term "tip in" that should help me explain this to Jody. Maxx
LOL. My chip rarely comes out of my hottest tune unless i'm pulling something or actually want good fuel mileage. haha. Then again i had Tony tune it so that i could do that without smoking everything out unless the pedal goes to the floor.
I always use my 100hp tune driving around town. If I'm really going for mileage I'll drop it to the 60hp economy tune. I havn't used my 140hp tune much but it isn't that touchy, slightly more than the 100hp, but not bad.
