If I have a bunch of parts to get rid and have listed somewhere is it appropriate to note where you can find them listed? I know some forums are touchy on this.

If you are talking bout posting ebay links it used to be against the rules. The forum would be a rolling auction listing with all the pro and semi-pro parts sellers we have on the forum.

There is a place to post on this site if that's what you mean.

I posted some parts in the classified section then put a post on here to tell others to go to the classifieds. Got a reprimand that only expired about a month ago and post was removed.

I posted the classified links to prevent him those problems. What kind of reprimand was handed to you?

In my CP right above latest reputation received I got a Latest infractions received. Stated reason was, posting classified ad in forums. I didn't think I had done that but since the post was removed I couldn't see what I had done. Now I'm very careful about anything I list. I'm glad they keep an eye on the boards and keep it a nice place for all of us.

What I was referring to was lets say I had a bunch of parts on Craigslist -Phoenix, no link no spiel, just if interested go take a look. It sounds like whats not acceptable is posting links to other sites or listing your stuff here?

The point is starting threads to advertise outside the classifieds. There are folks that would abuse it and throw up five threads at time, rinse and repeat. (not saying you would do that but somebody would) Popular automotive forums all have classifieds sections. If somebody wants to shop they can read ads all day long. In the course of normal forum conversation guys mention things they have for sale, or are looking to buy. That seems to be acceptable as it doesn't dominate the forum.
