Anyway, I was nowhere near 7k lbs with that and sagged even more than the truck in this picture. I think it was about 4.6K but looking back I wonder if that might have been tons because it was a lot of sand. Truck hauled it just fine except it was a wee bit light in the front end. Just a 6 mile drive and some serious ruts in my yard. Truck has never been that low in the springs since then but even then it still was not on the stops.
I guess if it fits in the bed of a 350 the truck can haul it. I have also had two pallets of floor tile about the size of those bags in the back of my truck. The tile was heavy but had nothing on the sand. Not sure I could load anything heavier in the bed of that truck over the sand that was simply overflowing. Jackhole chebbie owner.
My 01 has a 2.5 add-a Leif in the front and a 3 inch Add-a Leif in the rear. Those are Firestone Destination rated at 3,800#s. at full rated psi.

Thanks Eddie. I can always count on you. Unfortunately with that dually you are not part of this SRWD equation lol. I don't ever want that much stuff in my bed again but that is what happens when you get sand from a hopper that dumps it into triple axle dump trucks. It is hard to shut the flow off. The truck was full in like 7 seconds.

I am not arguing with you. Your post made me wonder just how much weight I had in the bed of my truck. I could have sworn it was over 2.2 tons.

Just stating why it wasn't squatting as much as one might think.

6,600 pounds. Drove from Birmingham AL. to St. Simons Is. GA. 01 F250. It toted it and drove fine. It even stopped well. but I made sure no-one got to close in front. Forget the time stamps those photos were taken this year.
Nice load,

I have had this exact same load as the last picture and it didn't turn out as well. It was months after I first got my truck 9yrs ago, the tires looked good at a glance 285's 8 ply. I blew a left rear doing 70 in the left lane of the freeway, I made it safely to the shoulder but the blow out mangled the rear side of my box and pushed up the floor of the box. I put the spare on and keep on trucking.

I guess I am saying these trucks can handle lots of weight, just make sure you give her the once over occasionally.

To add to that story I was headed out of town to do a job that weekend which was kinda in the stix of northern MN and I ended up hitting some debris in the road later that weekend and got another flat. It was a slow leaker so I was able to make it back the cabin that I was staying at, but now I needed another spare. I had no luck finding any wheels in the garage/yard this guy had that would fit, but I did find a plug kit with no plugs. So upon a further search I found some rope and some caulking and proceeded to plug the tire with that. I made I home that Sunday with air still in my tire.

4500 lbs of new roofing shingles, nails, black paper, trim, and tools from new paris ohio to leitchfield , ky.

Had a 1998 f150 v6 2wd reg cab long bed, pulled a 18 ft haulmark trailer from empty from ky to leroy ny. Loaded 21 motorcycles, average weight from 500lbs to 900lbs, brought back. After getting unhooked, noticed that I had a 2 inch ball on the truck, trailer needed a 2 5/16 ball. Sold truck at 255,000 miles, only changed oil, tires , and brakes.

I always run out of room before I run out of weight capacity. My legal limit for bed hauling is about 3,000lbs.

FWIW it is a 2006 Lance 861. It was our third truck camper and we loved it! Plenty of room for us and we could go or park anywhere. We sold it earlier this year and will be looking for a 5th wheel next year or so as we plan to full time after I can retire in about 3 years. Rather than load up the thread with pics, here is a link for the camper. They are basically identical. Ours had an on board 2.5K generator and 90 watt solar, yakima rack and a few other items to real make it loaded out. The advertised dry weight is 3070, but my local scale says loaded up (minus water) I was right at 4K. Anyway here is the link:

Not a ford srw but dad's formerly owned 93 dodge 3/4 ton cummins diesel 4x 4 carried up to 7k of steel in the bed and did not even look full, unfortunatley the cummins broke the tranny case in half about 120k miles... I had at times over 7k in the f350 dually's factory bed before we put the flatbed on,, have had 7k on a few times since then too, but thats why i am on my second set of rear leaf springs.
