Occasional problem.

Every once in a while I have an idle problem. I have replaced the plugs, wires, EGR valve and DPFE sensor. Still have the problem. It only happens I sit at an idle for awhile or if I coast up to a stop sign. I sprayed carb cleaner along the fuel rail but that don't seem to make a difference. Anybody have any ideas?

Occasional problem.

Try cleaning the IAC motor and the mass air sensor. It usually falls as the culprit...

Thanks for the advise. Could you or someone let me know where the IAC and Mass flow sensor are located. I'm not real familiar with these new engines. Drop a 84 300 i6 in my lap and I could find just about everything. This engine is a whole different world to me. Thanks.

Occasional problem.

The IAC will be a cylinder looking object with an electric connector at one end (two wires - usually black/red). It will be bolted to the side of the throttle body. You remove the (2) 8mm bolts, the gasket, and clean with either gas or carb cleaner and q-tips. This will get the carbon out from around the flute and spring inside.

The Mass Air will be bolted to the airbox and have a flat plug, usually about 8-10 wires. Be very gentle when cleaning it. You do not want to break the wires inside the sensor.

Hope this helps...
