I have had a Flowmaster 50 series si/do for along time and have always loved the sound of it. Perfect bite when i get into it, but quite going down the highway.
Now i put long tube headers in and got rid of my cats, it does have the resonators, but the exhaust is far to loud. Especially when im towing.
I need to tame it back down a little bit.
What do you guys recomend? It needs to be quiter than a 50 series flow master.

I've been thinking about offing my cats too, I'm wondering what you did about the downstream O2s? I know they sell MIL eliminators for mustangs, is this what you used?
I honestly didnt do anything, i dont know if my Gryphon programer automaticaly gets rid of them or what. But i never got a CEL after i started the truck up.
My old cats looked like brand new on the inside. Couldnt believe that after 200k on the clock.
I would run a WickedFlow Max 18SC300, or if you have the room, a 22SC300. Can't get much quieter than that in a performance muffler. I run the 18SC224 on my Aerostar, and its fairly quiet. They do not drone.

Ya, I was thinking the same thing on you're programer. My truck had a blown piston and was pumping oil into the Passenger Converter bad, the guy I got the truck from just kept adding oil and driving. Truck runs good now, fixed the engine, but that converter has to be restricted. The rear o2 on that side looked like it actually melted down.

Don't be surprised. The cats have no moving parts, and do not wear out. They only fail if something else goes wrong, such as a rich condition. The cats will typically outlast the rest of the vehicle if the engine is kept properly tuned.
