Do you have a Canadan truck? I am not sure, but I do not think the 99's had day time lights (I own a 2001 and I know I do not have them). Would not seem that they would put them on 99 and not on 2001.
You may have the automatic lights (as the Eddie have them as a feature of that package). It may be that the sensor for the lights is jacked and you lights are on all the time. An easy way to check this is when the truck is on, get out and look at the back lights. Are they on? If so, that is prob the case.
If they are in fact daytime running lights, there should be a fuse for those lights. Pull the fuse (I did on my wife's Lexus). All the other lights run fine, and just the day times are out. Let me know what you find. I would be intrested to see what happens.
Thanx for the reply. They are in fact daytime running lamps, and not the autolamp feature. I bought it used, so it may be that it was originated out of Canada. I will check for the fuse tomorrow and let you know. Thanx again.
ChiTown:
If you find a relay or fuse, let me know which box and number you find it in. I have an 00 and 01 and would like to have the automatic daytime running lights. We just turn ours on during the day now. Thanks
Deb
Funny thing I found with our old Expy - the sensor for the autolamp was in the top of the dashboard. Well, I'd through a baseball cap or newspaper up there and inadvertently cover the sensor, which would turn the lights on. Finally figured it out when I noticed the radio displayed "dimmed".
