I have the Ford hard folding cover.......folds back and you only lose maybe 4-6 inches at the window. Bakflip makes this cover for Ford and sells a similar one under their own name....Seal is pretty good weather wise
The BakFlip is hard, lockable, flush mount, allows full access to your truck bed and comes in 3 different flavors to suit your pocket book. It's a far superior product (OEM) to any of the vinyl covers. It also is great in bad weather (snow etc) and allows full access to stake pockets. In a nutshell, it does what all others covers can't do.
I'm not sure how good you can see mine, but I think it's Tuxedo brand. It is a roll up and uses Velcro on the sides. The dealer installed it before I took delivery. I also got a Rhino liner installed (of course you can't see that). I like it. I was told that the hard folding covers leak. So far this one does not. Very easy to use.

does the velcro seem to be holding up to frequent use?

Mine is a tri fold since I have the short box....some H2O gets in thru heavy rain or a car wash....usually just a bit at the back tailgate area....but very little.
Has anyone noticed an increase in gas mileage? I have seen some advertisements suggesting a 10% increase when a truck is outfitted with one of those covers.
I have the Truxedo and I like it. It's my second one. Had one on my Ranger for 4 years, but had to have it replaced because the threads sewing the velcro on started to dissolve under the desert sun. Contacted Truxedo and sent them pictures, and I got a new and improved model for free. Great Service. So when I got the FX2, I ordered another one. It's light weight, and rolls up completely out of the way for big stuff.
Not sure about fuel mileage with a cover. I think it depends more on the length of the bed. I feel the short 5' 7" bed does not really benefit from a cover. Maybe an 8 foot bed might actually see an increase in fuel mileage.

Part of that is incorrect. The Bakflip does not have a lock. You have to open the tailgate to open the cover. You can only open the cover at the tailgate end (unlike FoldACover or Advance cover where you can open either end). The seals are thin and flimsy and some areas (the tailgate end) tend to look unfinished. However, it is low profile and looks good on a truck. The F1 has a FRP top panel which is a step up from powdercoated aluminum. So, there are pros and cons to everything!

Pretty sure Myth Busters Busted this one as well as leaving the tail gate down to increase gas mileage.

Yes, I saw that show and for them, it worked out to be opposite of what was claimed. They actually got better mileage with the tailgate up. That said, I don't believe they tested one with a Tonneau Cover. It bothers me when someone is selling a product and advertises 10% increase in Gas mileage without the facts to back up the statement. IMO, it detracts from the credibility of the product.
I can vouch for the ACCESS rollup cover. I had one on my 2002 f150 screw and it was the first purchase I made for my 2009. They are durable, roll up out of the way, and the velcro holds up over years of use. They are great covers.
Check out the Undercover. One piece hard cover 65# and you can take it off yourself. They send a hook set so you can hang it on the wall out of the way. I have been looking at alot of different styles and from what i have read this unit seals up the bed the best. Also no drilling to mount. Install is way easy 15 mins. and you are good to go.
Well, I gotta go with what works for me.
I'm a proponent of the cap accessory. My cargo bay in the box is now massive and everything stays bone dry. The high-rise cap I selected is also very complimentary since it is painted to the precise paint code of the truck. It is also very stylish and aero-dynamic.
Mine is a Leer cap (yes, others had issues in the past, I didn't with this years model).
With the larger bedsides provided by Ford now and extended cap height, I could camp in the thing besides all other conveniences I've mentioned in other posts.
Just wanted to lay out the alternative option.
