remove plug from fuel filter housing, screw in adapter, screw in sending unit into adapter, run ground wire, run + wire to keyed hot. and mount gauge to what ever it is you were going to mount it to.

I used teflon tape on mine.
I remember I had to buy an adapter kit from the local auto parts store because Autometer doesn't include fittings for all applications. The Powerstroke just so happens to fall in this category.
It's been so long now I forgot what metric size was needed but you can do a search here on FTE and dig up what's needed out of the adapter kit.
Once you're working on it, you'll see what I mean.

I dont mean to hijack but why do some guys purchase the relocater line? I heard that a sending unit bolted directly to the housing CANNOT withstand the vibration and eventually will break and also the heat factor of the engine can faulter the reading.....obviously creating a BIG problem.

A relocation line like the Sinister set up does two things. First, it isolates the sending unit from the engine and minimizes vibration input that can eventually lead to premature failure. Second, it allows you to relocate the sending unit to a location where you have more room to work.

Also the Sinister line already comes with the correct adapter fitting to plug into the test port which means you have one less item to deal with or find.
