I have a 95 f150, with a sony explode reserver and a amp going to one 12 kicker ,, Now my old amp would work but then this red light came on and so it didnt work, then i would pull the fuse out and put it in and then it would work untell i turned it off, so i got a nother amp that dos work, but its doing the same thing, One guy said a power wire is grounding some were, so i looked as best as i could and it ll seemed fine, But i could have missed it, If that is the case were should i look, and is there a nother reason why its doing this
My old sony amp did the same thing....turns out it was getting too hot. I moved it from under the seat to behind the seat, mounted on the back of the cab. Seemed to work for my problem. Hope this helps.
The sub is good i have it bridged, and my ground is tite but ill check it again, Because it did work for a few months then just stoped
Bridged tells me nothing. What ohm sub? D4 D2? Wired parallel or series?
Im asking cause you could have it wired to too low of an impedance causing the amp to go into protect mode to keep it alive.I think sony amps are 2ohm stable? But bridged they are only 4 ohm stable. What model amp?
Where is the amp grounded? Good contact point/free of paint?
What size is the power and ground?
Seeing that this is the 2nd amp that has done the same thing im guessing you have an impedance problem.

I would have to agree. Also have you checked over all of your wiring. Make sure there are no small cuts or crimps in the line.
hhmm alright, I try to go though all this in auto,, And im using so Fat wire thats the right size, and i know i need to track down a cut or loose wire, But wir would be a good place to look

Go back to my post.
How is the sub wired? What ohm subwoofer is it?
Or if your to lazy to pull the sub out the box just un bridge it and see if it does it anymore.
