I just purchased a 1980 model f150 300 six cyl runs cherry but ive got a few minor problems to address .
1)The carb is new and evidently the old one was set up with manual choke and the wire is missing to hook up the electric choke . All I need to know is ,will any 12v hot wire do or does it need to be resisted(i.e. voltage reduced to three volts or whatever)?
2) I need to know the fuse placement and amp requirement so I can replace fuses and find out why my break lights aren't working( i want to make sure its just not missing a fuse ). I really don't want to buy a whole manual to find out the fuse placement so if some one could scan and email me the info from an owners manual that would be great !!
I appreciate any info
thank you , kevin

I can't help with the fuse box setup on an 'eighty, but the carb I may be able to. The electric choke is run off 6V. There should be some sort of unused connector at the fire wall that you can plug into. If you use a voltmeter, it should run around 6V with the engine running. If you can't find the connection, you should be able to find the stator TERMINAL off the altenator that gives you 6V...built in just for electic/assist chokes. Run a wire from there to your carb. The manual maybe tough to justify now, but it's usually a wise investment for the older trucks that need a little fixin'.

You can get different voltages from a "tapped" stator. the output
of the alternator is off the rectification diodes....
