Running gear swap

How hard would it be to swap f250 running gear into a f150 shortbox. Is it worth the hassel. I want a locker in the rear.

Whatever axle your F150 has, a locker can be had for it.

What axle do you have?

Swapping in the F250 stuff would be the loooong way around.

I think its a 9inch but i will have to double check. So the heavier stuff really wont make that much difference

A difference in what? Traction? Not really, that's more tires and the locker. Many flavors of locker available for the 9". Last year for the 9er was '85 or '86 iirc. Just as many available for the 8.8" also.

Depends on how you're going to run it. If you are running hard and jumping, you probably ought to go up to a beefed heavier axle.
But if you have stock suspension, you're going to break stuff doing that even with the heavier axle....
