Im going to install the column pod (see pics), but I dont know how to pull the stock upper part from the column (its a tilt one), I see some screws in the bottom, if I remove them it will work?

Thanks in advance.

If it's like mine, the column pod just snaps in place over the existing column. Nothing to remove. Just put the new one over the old one.

I was disappointed when I found this out. I was hoping to remove the factory one and install the new piece, but there was no place to screw the gauge pod portion onto the bottom half of the column cover. Once you get it situated, it works well. The hazard button doesn't stick up much with the new cover, but it still works.

Well that pod is for a SD, but I read it could fit in the OBS. I tried to just snaps it and I couldnt, even with the steering tilted down, do I have to move the selector down from park to 2, too?, because it seems that I need to remove the dash to make it to fit.

BTW it came with some instructions, but they are for a pillar pod and also came with a double faced tape and some little plastic clips.

thanks for the input.

Mine came with tape and the clips too. I didn't use any of them. It did take some wiggling around to get it to fit right. I've never compared the OBS to SD column cover to see what, if any difference there is. Where's Chase? He recently went from SD to OBS, maybe he has just enough brain cells to remember if it's the same ( I like to pick on Chase, especially since he said it was karma biting me in the rear for all my current troubles)

Chase, where ya at buddy?

Make sure you get pictures of your install roentgeep. I like the looks of it.

Where did you get it? How much? Do they make a double gauge pod for the column?

Here I is... been gone for a week.
I have been told the SD steering column pod will work on the OBS and plan to do this myself but haven't yet. I have other steering column plans I'm not yet ready to spill the beans on...

When I had my spare manual column from my 95 out of the truck. I tried hard to not damage parts and get it into pieces.
I couldn't get it all the way apart, honestly. I ended up breaking it.

My 94's and 95's columns are different though as well.
As far as I know, they are snapped together.

Our columns are screwed together. There are two screws on the bottom, one on each side. Then there is one that is hidden on the right side low down near the back.

UPDATE:
Well I finished the work, Chris and Rick, were right (look post # 2-3), nothing to remove or pull, just intall the pod with care and thats it, I just has to move the tranny selector from park to neutral and thats all. I also painted the wire of the scan gauge in black to hide it a little into the pod (nothing outside you can see) you barely see it in the pics. Thanks to all of you.
