Advice needed
Hi All,
Has anyone installed a 302 mustang motor into a 64 F-100? If so any major complications and what trans did you use? I have a line on one with a Cobra 5 speed std and wondering if we will hit any major snags making in hum. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Welcome to FTE.
The major issue is going to be the front and rear engine crossmember in the frame. You can buy the adapters for side mount engines but the rear cross member is going to be sitting right where the bellhousing should be. My old 351W and FMX had a horrible driveline angle the previous owner left me with. I ended up cutting the originals out and welded in the adapters. Also if you use a cable clutch you might have some issues mounting the quardrent correctly. Look to use a hydraulic setup if at all possible.
