AC Heater Blower

My 1994 F-250 5.8 Auto is having trouble with the AC Heater blower. It blows but very little. Before I go throw down good money for a new blower motor is there anything else I should check first?

My recently purchased 95 F250 had similiar issues when i got it a couple weeks ago.

The AC was cold, and the blower motor sounded ok, but just not enough air flow from the vents.

A customer of mine clued me in that you can remove the blower motor, and access the evaporater core to clean it out.

I removed the motor, and had a rats nest sucked up against the evap. core! Consisted of some sort of fibreglass insulation(I don't think it was off the truck...rat imported insulation), and wheat...yes, wheat. I cleaned that crap out, and blew out the evap core as good as possible with a air nozzle made of long copper pipe( so you can bend it around corners). This fixed the feeble air-flow issues.

I also took the opportunity to repair the vacume line to the recirculating air dash-pot since I was working right there.

Was really an easy enough task...handeled with a 1/4" socket set, air compressor, and blow nozzle. Took maybe 30-40 minutes. Also turned a so-so air con system into a really cold sucker...without messing with freon charge.
