Banks 6 Gun

Can anyone tell me what the brake down on the 6 settings for the 6 Gun is? Also do you really have to do the tranny relearn everytime you go up in settings?

Don't need to relearn each time..that was easy.
Not sure of the amount of increase per setting. I will see if I can find out.

Here is what I could find from along time ago:
100hp/220lb-ft extra at the ground (max setting)

Adjustable on the fly (no downloading)

6 power settings

Simple 3 plug install (no sensors to install)

Both the PDA and switch control versions have built in EGT limiting, boost pressure limiting, trans temp and trans slip limiting, cold engine protection, safe range turbo calibration for use at high altitude, coolant temp limiting (tuner will shut off if there's an over heat) and an automatic bypass mode.

Undetectable by the dealer (no program is laoded into the stock ECM)

Soot output is about 2% higher then stock on the max power setting (when at 100% throttle)

Soot output to is the same as stock on level 5 power setting (when at 100% throttle)

Soot output is 2% less than stock on level 4 and below (when at 100% throttle)

Six-Gun power level settings

Fireman28,

I went to "TheDieselStop.com" forum last night and spent the a good four hours going through a fifty-page post on the Six-Gun Tuner. Senix was one of the participants and they all went through an extensive learning curve on the tuner which will help folks like you and me with our installation and use. The specific post is located:

2008-2010 Ford Super Duties: 6.4L Upgrades and Aftermarket - Engine: Banks Six Gun

Like I said before, it's about a fifty-page post but it is worth the time to go through it on your own. But back to your original question/post about the power levels. Somewhere in the above forum post is a reply that, if memory serves me correctly, the power levels are set up in something like 20% increments:

Level 1: Stock power @ 0%
Level 2: +20%
Level 3: +40%
Level 4: +60%
Level 5: +80%
Level 6: +100%

I don't know if this is accurate or not but it seems reasonable. I bought my Six-Gun Bundle from the factory and if I get the chance I'll call them and try to find out for sure. Also, in talking to the guy on the other end of the phone line, I found out that apparently Banks Engineering has their people go through extensive hands-on product training where they actually see, touch and install the products that they will be selling. Good luck with your equipment and I hope it serves you well.

Ed

Thanks guys. I should have it in tomorrow and hope to get it on next week. I have to get to the dealer first to get my 3rd CAC put on and hopefully this one will work more than 2 months.

When you get ready, the first time may take a little longer but don't worry it is pretty straight forward.

Do it when the motor is cold...a little warm is ok. The turbo connection is the one that will burn your fingers.

Yep, 100% accurate with the numbers and the information.

Wonder who posted that information.
