Ok, my '77 F150 has a guage in it that tells me if my alternator is charging on not, or maybe it's the state of the battery, but it doesn't move, can anyone tell me what wires go where so I can get it to work...
Cheers,
Shane
It's normal, as was stated, for the ammeter needle to barely move or not over at all. No really! It was used from 66-80.
The official Ford TSB for the time stated this to test the gauge:
Close all doors and turn off all electrical accessories
Turn ignition switch to "Accessory" position
While closely observing Ammeter Gauge, turn on headlamps
Any deflection of the needle towards "D" (discharge) means the gauge is fine.
Pressing the brake pedal may also cause a slight deflection.
Ok, thats 3 holes in the ground...but why am I not surprised!! Ok, I'll leave well enough alone and leave it as it is instead of wasting time trying to fix it!!
Thanks,
Shane
