Of all the googling I have done to try to solve my problem on my 1999 F-350, i have not been able to find answers. You just saved me $100 i was thinking of spending on the switch. I had the exact same problem. I knew it wasnt the bulbs because for 1, it would be way too cooincidental for them to go at the same time, and 2, I have a 2000 F-350 that i took the bulbs from that i knew worked and tryed to swap and had the same problem. When I read you had a loose # 16 fuse I thought, what the hell, I'll check and see if mine does that. I was totally shocked when I started wiggling it around, and the brights indicator lit up on the dash. CRAZY. I wonder how much $ Ford service departments make on this problem. Anyways, i joined this forum just to say thanks. I have a ton of other problems that come with old age in any older vehicle that i think the forum could be useful for as well. Thanks again!
You find lots of solutions to common and uncomon problems with these truck here.
Make sure to use the search tool religiously as your first line of defense when trying to fix a problem. Usually (with some reading) the solution will be found.
Thanks Fishin. I have used forums a lot for my 2000 mustang with a ton of mods at allfordmustangs.com. Im glad to find a PS forum. I need to figure quite a few things out. I have a 1999 and a 2000 crew cabs ps diesels. I have loose steering, terrible tire wear, hard starts, etc. I was on the verge of trading 2 trucks in and buying a new one, but these trucks are not worth anything anymore in this economy. I would be surprised to get 6k for them. May as well just keep them. i own a construction company, so i dont want too nice of trucks anyways. Employeees will just beat them up. Anyways, I will use the search feature before bogging down forums with the same old questions. Sometimes it just gets too exhausting to read all the brainless comments from people who just want to show stats.
Thanks. I just emailed them for quotes. I do think its in the steering box. It feels like it wanders. Anyways, shouldnt get too involved in this thread, lol.
I have a CDN truck with DRLs. I headlights are screwed up. I have no low-beams ata all, and high beams only work with the manual light cwitch. They do not work on auto. Have not found any blown fuses. Could it be a DRL relay? A DRL module? Any ideas?
erniek70: The high beam circuit does not interact with the DRL system, except that the main light switch shuts off the DRL's when it turns on the regular headlight system. Does your high beam indicator light come on when you select the regular high beams? The regular high beams should work no matter what the DRL does, as long as the main headlight switch works properly.
erniek70: see my post in your other thread. The indicator symptom indicates that the main switch and the multifunction switch are probably good and that the problem is in the DRL system.
Well I'm havin same prob but I install aftermarket bulbs so I'm justg assumin it was the bulbs that went bad. Low beams were as bright as high beams so not worried bout it
