How Do I Remove the Inside Drivers Door Handle
I need to remove the door opening mechanism located behind the inside handle on the driver's side. I figured out how to remove the pin on the handle and the three screws on the door but I can't find a way to get it down past the window mechanism.
Do I have to remove the window brackets first to get it out?
Thanks

Actually, you don't have to remove the glass to get the door latch mechanism out.
But as I recall, there is a little bit of maneuvering around when you are dropping out the mechanism. I usually roll the window all the way up and after taqking all the screws out of the latch, drop down the back of it first as you continue to pull the inside handle shaft/mount toward the back of the door, then pull the inside handle **** back and then down. You may have to roll the window down an inch or two to gain some clearance.
This is one of theose stupid things you can fight with for an hour and not get out, then let go of and it will fall out. Then figuring out how to get it back in is a pain.
