Can someone explain what the above code is and how to figure it out? I had an ICP issue and replaced it. Seemed to work fine for a 19 hr/1200 mile drive to NY and the last 20 min of the trip started the same symptoms as the original ICP issue. I was able to get a hold of an old Snap on reader and were able to pull codes and run some tests. One of which was the P0284. So if anyone can let me know what to check that would be great! Thanks!

 

Ignore the 0284 code for now and focus on the other ones. Can you list all the codes you found? What symptoms are you having?

Depending on what CPS you have (including the one that Ford installs for their recall), the 0284 can be a phantom code so I wouldn't give that one too much weight right now.

 

If you have the grey CPS I would swap it out for an original black one and try it again.

 

Riff - I actually don't know which one I have.

The only other codes were ones for the torque converter clutch which is from the ebpv brake mod, a P1876 for a transfer case solenoid (which I have no idea that problem) and the P1280 for low ICP reading. But that was in memory codes and was present before swapping the ICP. I wasn't able to reset the codes after the swap so not sure if thats a code prior to or after swapping.

 

Clay, I havent done any cps swap so Im not sure whats in it. Where is it and how can I tell?
