I just got a 76 1 ton with 390 and a 4 speed I was wondering what tranny this might be ?
I was all so wondering what you would have to do to get the 4speed 2wd tranny to bolt up to a np205 transfercase so it can go into my 4x4

The existing tranny is probly an old Borg Warner or an NP435.
As far as switching it into a 4x4, I have never done it but I would imagine that you would just have to change the output shaft/housing. Someone please correct me if I am way off. But thats what came to my mind.

Would I have to disassemble the trans like a auto trans to change the tail shaft I know in the c6 their is a snap ring in the trans that you have to take out before the tail shaft will come out
