computer re-setting

computer re-setting
Is it true that u should take off the negative battery cable after installing new performance parts or new sencors to help the computer recognise new parts since its always learning with time and wear on parts.

i put on a y-pipe from spd, flowmaster dual exhaust and a throtle body spacer.
