That's not the right one for this axle. I just rebuilt mine completely and didn't see anything like that in there.
If you are talking about the one inside the spindle that seals that needle bearing where the axle goes through then the kit from oreilleys is national sbk-5. It contains the the seal, slinger and bearing. That should be the right one.
If you need the inner axle seals, next to the carrier then let me know and I will go find thouse boxes. The new replacements will look much different than the original ones but they seem to work great.

Yeah I was right. I googles that brs87 you meantioned and that is part of the sbk5 kit I mentioned. It also has the rubber seal part that slides on the axle and the needle bearing. It was the only way I could find to get this was in the kit. All of these parts stores are about worthless if you ask me. Not one of them, including ford, use proper or consistent terminology.

This is a real part, and the part number is shown in the Ford service manual for the power/ drivetrain book, page 05-03A-6, showing the blow-up of a Dana 40-IFS front drive axle, F-250 HD 4X4 with automatic locking hubs. It is the same for manual hubs. It is a different part (integral spacer/ seal Item#35 Part#3299, caged needle bearing Item#58 Part#3123, wheel bearing seal Item# 54 Part#1190), aka the combo kit you can get from O'Ryilleys or auto zone or advanced auto. The part you are trying to find is the same thing I am trying to find so I can redo the front drive axle on my 1994 f250 as one of my projects for automotive school. In my original 1994 Ford service for Ecoboline, F-150, F-250, F-350, Bronco, and F-super Duty, the part number is 1175. The setup and process will be the same because the 9th gens ran from 1992-1997. The only thing that would change is part numbers and page numbers, possibly.

While I appreciate your use of the search function, I don’t think the OP still needs the part number 14 years later.

the one thing I do appreciate is seeing a post from Neal. RIP
