351w specialy cuz its a 250 and your gunna tow some. they still get pretty decent mpg i get 15 right now and i got 212k on the clock. if your going with tires any bigger then 33s make sure you have atleast 4.10 gears in it to keep the rpms down on the freeway
Pick up a repair manual, i like haynes personnally. and check out broncograveyard.com i love that site for aftermarket/stock ford parts, 5.8 is the 351,
to keep you rpm's down you would want a higher (numerically lower) gear ratio.
do you happen to know what transmission the truck has? aswell as what gears it has now? are you thinking on going to a larger tire? i think it would be a good idea for the 5.8L swap. if you are swapping. is it 4x4?
and as far as the bolting to your stock transmission yes they will bolt up as they are both small block, the only difference is you will need a flywheel or flexplate (dependingon wether you have a auto or standard) to match the 5.8 as the 5.0 is weighted different
i love this forum btw everyone is so dang helpfull

That is the exact motor you want because it is factory equipped with a roller cam. You need the complete motor from oilpan to throttlebody because very few parts transfer form the 5.0, you will also need an early 5.8EFI distributor with a TFI module mounted on the side(the '95 used a remote TFI), or you could modify the '95 dizzy to accept the module if you're handy with a dremmel. Also have to swap the drive gear on the old distributor because the roller cam needs a steel gear while the old flat tappet motors use a cast gear. 5.8 motors have a 28oz imbalance while the 5.0 has a 50oz.. that's why you need a different flexplate. And it's most likely your truck has an E4OD but check the decal on the drivers door pillar, Trans code E is E4OD.
Trust me, this is the one that you want. This is the factory shop manual that the dealerships use. They are several volumes large, but worth every penny.
