I just bought a 2000 F250 to haul my mud draggin truck around with. But it has the smaller mirrors which is already very apparant that they are too small. So i would like to know if the larger mirrors will swap right in place and if theres any difficulties with doin this such as power wires?
The mirrors will bolt in. The 2004-2007 mirrors have turn signal LED's in them and different plugs. The 1999-2002 towing mirrors will bolt right in and plug up.
I have an 01 and I had the sport mirrors on mine. You can buy the kit from any Ford dealer. I like OEM myself, utherwise you can buy aftermarket on Ebay. The OEM kit comes with both mirrors, and the adapter wires. All the directions come in the kit as well. It took me about an hour to change out the mirrors. I can tell you, the tow mirrors are a million times better then the sport mirrors. You will be much happier with the tow mirrors. I don't know why they even put those small mirrors on a big truck. Good luck.
Yep, they will bolt right up. The new mirrors should come with new foam gaskets so you don't have to reuse the old ones. If you have power adjusted and/or heated mirrors I believe you need to remove the door panel the get to the connectors. Mine didn't have any, so it was just the 3 bolts. Took me less than 10 minutes per side.
I bought mine from a Ford dealer in Michigan. They were a lot cheaper then the local dealer here in Florida. I bought the OEM kit for $300.00 shipped to my door. If you want to call him here is the info. Szott Ford, 248-634-4411, and ask for Dave in parts. He was way cheaper then my local dealer. The kit that I bought are telescoping tow mirrors, but do not have heat. Good luck.
