Have a 55 F100 with a PA generated vin number, had to replace many of the fender nuts, that hold on the fender on, they were a metric thred? Is this truck from Canada, can not find any Ford vin number for the truck?
your truck may be from Canada, but the metric nut have nothing to do with that ...these tards didnt which us to metric until the early to mid 80's.until then the only metric stuff we had was on the imports.
Mine are all metric, don't look like they were changed! If I find the vin, is there a way to tell if it is a Canadian truck?
It's highly unlikely your fasteners are OEM metric, even if Canadian. What is it about them that leads you to believe they are metric, and original? And yes, if you find a serial number on your chassis, Canadian built vehicles use a totally different configuration from US built trucks. If you find it, post it here and we can decode it for you.
Hey! Why would you say we are backwards??
But vin should be on the drivers side frame just ahead of the firewall on the edge of the inner fender. On mine anyhow.
I have a Canadian built 53 and the vin is stamped on the passenger side just ahead of the cab mount wing.
Rick
Rick, your truck isn't right hand drive by any chance, is it. ;-) Kidding.
On a more serious note, do you know which assembly plant did your truck came from? Mine is stamped on the left rail right next to the steering box. It's right over where the sector shaft goes through the frame.
