Anybody read the the Off Road mag. I did big mistake now I want a V-Tech supercharger system. Who would'nt want 465 hp flywheel 350 hp at the ground and 553 flywheel 375 pounds of torgue on the ground. I am drolling just typing this. Well has anyone look into these and I guess I can figure on dropping to about 4 mpg. The prices I found was about 6200 for the full kit with aftercooler too achieve above stats. Let me hear if anybody else has thought about this or has done it. I know I will be divorced if I do this. But I must have my toy.
I have that magazine too and I read that article! It would be nice little add-on to have under the hood!
But I'll have to pass-it was all I could do to convince my wife we "needed" the new F250 with a few cheaper add-ons. I'd get lit up if I even mentioned something that expensive!
Yeah Did not make connection. You still will not get the get up and snap out of a disiel you will get out of a supercharged V10. For me don't tow much just like the get up in a monster. Nothing like toasting these smaller suped up trucks. They look a me really stupid when I toast them off the light. Can't believe a big heavy truck can beat them.
My buddy was telling me about watching one of those shade -tree performance shows on cable. They were experimenting with propane gas injection on a diesel motor. I don't know the specifics, but the horsepower and torque numbers were incredible. Something like 200 hp before and 435 after with the propane. If this is true and can be perfected, Man can you imagine the fun!!!! Anybody got the specifics or knowledge on this mod? I'd like to know more if its truly possible.
I know a number of guys that run propane. It'll shorten engine life and if not properly installed and calibrated will quickly ruin stuff.
Those numbers are about right. Think of propane on a diesel like nitrous on a gasser. But you can run it ALL the time and really reduce your diesel fuel consumption. It doesn't have to be a "hit the button, Cleetus! They're gainin' on us..." type of thing.
If I ever get an extra diesel lyin' around I'd like to add propane. Just not a daily driver though...

The above cut n paste are from your post and my signature... please note that the auto tranny V10 with 3:73 gears, stock tire diameter made some really impressive Rear Wheel HP and Torque.
$6000 for 33 ft lb Torque is not very impressive, considering all the other sub $1000 modifications that will give you at least that kind of gain...
I know you want to stuff those giant HP figures in my ear... with a go fast sports car, yes they are significant.... but with a 6800 lb AIR DAM of a SuperDuty truck... trust me TORQUE and gearing are the moving forces
I am NOT saying that a supercharged V10 is not WAY COOL... just freaquin spensiv
I have a Novi 2000 on mine and it only cost $3000 when I bought it. It is the best upgrade I have ever done on a vehicle. The way I see it, I would have spent more on a diesel engine option. It has no intercooler but make plenty of power with out it.
For pulling heavy loads I might like the PSD better, but for running around in a daily driver that supercharger and a gas engine would waste a PSD in terms of acceleration of a lightly loaded truck.
I wonder how the v-10 holds up to a supercharger. Seem to be a few on the board.
