Conversion van "ground effects" kits?
My 93 E150 Cobra Conversion van came with what are fiberglass running boards with fender flares. They are in pretty much is sad shape.
I would like to replace them with the more conformal, streamlined types that I think come on "Explorer" brand conversions. Googled around for a while, but couldn't find a site that has them.
Anyone know of a source that sells these ground effects kits?
TIA,
-James

That said, shipping stuff as big as van running boards is gonna cost a LOT, and it seems like there is a big markup on this stuff for replacement parts (as there is with all body parts--insurance companies pay for the parts, so they get marked up). You would be better off searching for a conversion van company somewhere near you, or finding a van in a junkyard with good parts--but that will not be easy.
I've got an '02 E150 conversion with a d'Elegant conversion and the running boards are nice and minimal, although I'd just as soon not have any.
Good luck,
George
Had friends who owned a van converstion shop and adding, replacing or repairing these fiberglas boards. Mostly what'll be available will be aftermarket stuff since the bigger converters like 707, StarCraft etc ect typically don't sell their boards except as replacements for something they built---they'll ask for serial numbers, VIN's etc.
This is a lot of money to spend for a cosmetic upgrade---tough choice for me.
