I'm getting ready to order up a MaxBrake hydraulic over electric brake controller for my truck within the next couple of days. Since the install requires a wire to be run through the firewall between the pressure sensor that is installed on one of the brake lines off the master cylinder and the controller itself, I thought I'd take a look under the dash to figure out the best way to run it.
I spent a good twenty minutes looking under the driver's side dash and hood, but I couldn't find any easy access that was obvious. I know the previous owner had a CB antenna mounted on the front fender, so I'm sure he found a way through, but I'm completely stumped. At some point I would also like to add a gauge pod, so know I'm going to have to find or make a way eventually.
Where do you all run your auxillary wires, antennas, etc. that have to pass through the from the cab to the engine bay?
I'd look at the firewall from the engine compartment to find access...too much crap under the dash to see much at all...from the engine compartment you should be able to easily see any access to the cab....hth
Guys like me with autos usually drill holes in the block-off plate from where the clutch stuff goes through the firewall. You really need to just stick your head under the hood and find a spot you can access with a drill, drill a hole and use a grommet to keep water from getting in the cab.
