Guys, ....I changed out the fluid on my transmission yesterday(2000 v-10 sd) useing the tech article here on FTE, great write up and easy to follow.....just when you get to the part where you unhook the return line to slip a hose over it to drain the cooler and torque converter, go to the local auto parts and get a transmission cooler adapter fitting . Its just a threaded nipple that matches up to the line and has a barbed nipple on it to slip the line over.(I used 3/8 ID clear line from lowes) and makes the job a whole lot less messy!! Ask me how i know....

You have a 2000. Why didn't you just pull the drain plug from the torque converter?

i wanted to get all the old fluid from the cooler/ lines etc.....trying to keep it simple i guess.

The flush method will change more of the fluid than draining the pan and torque converter.
