For all you 5ers
GVWR = 14,040
UVW = 11,010
DRY HITCH WEIGHT = 2,040
DRY AXLE WEIGHT = 8,970
GROSS NCC = 3,030
Can I pull this with my 2011 F350, CC, 4x4, 3.31, SRW, 8' bed and of course 6.7. Just concerned about 3.31 and SRW. We never expected to go this big, but it has the layout we like.
Thanks in advance for the awesome input.

What is the GVWR for your truck and do you have 20" wheels? The specs show the 2011 F350 is 10,000lb GVWR. Can you get a higher GVWR on the 2011 F350? There is a 68U extra payload option but I think it requires the 18" wheels.
Are you guys seeing any axle hop or shuddering when you begin pulling your heavy 5th wheels from a dead stop?
I have a 34ft Cedar Creek triple slide 5th wheel. Unloaded weight is 10,683 lbs, pin weight is 1962, Trailer GVWR is 13,962. I've never weighed it but we don't load it down.
My '08 F250 is pushed down pretty good with the pin weight (which we all know is always heavier. I'd say it's about 2200-2300 lbs since the bedroom with clothes and basement storage is at the front) I've had to add Timbren rubber springs to keep the bed somewhat level.
Will the 10,000 GVWR rating on the F350 and the extra spring keep me in good shape? I don't want to have to add any air bags or extra springs. Just looking for some reassurance that the bed will sit level with the 5th wheel on the bed.
I'm on the fence between the 3500 HD SRW and the F350 6.7 SRW CC SB right now.
I have a 34 foot loaded it weighs 10,500 so we are pretty close. My 02 F250 4x4 SC would squat a little and the front end would then appear as if I had put 2" springs in it.
My new F350 FX4 Crew SRW short box, the same trailer causes my truck to sit perfect, it is still a small amount higher in the rear which is great. The 350's have an extra spring in the back, the springs were just coming into contact with the upper stops. I was concerned about ride being "jittery" but it is excellent.
I did have to lower my hitch in the bed of the truck though because the new truck sits almost dead-on 3" taller. If your hitch doesn't move you could adjust the king pin on the camper just as well. I still had plenty of room so as to not have the bed hit the under side of the camper.

My truck has a gvw of 11500 pounds. It does have 20" wheels. Have you weighed your rig.? Your rig is very similar in ratings as mine. With my 04 F250 I made a conscious effort to keep the weight down because I had weighed the rig 15 minutes after I pulled it off the dealers lot. I never carried any water in the waste tanks and only 20 gallons in the fresh water tank. I actually have increased my traveling weight by 1100 pounds with the new truck. This increased my pin weight by almost 300 pounds. You will be over GVW and more than likely real close on RAWR with a 10000# GVW. I recommend the 11500 package.

It costs $9 to weigh the truck and trailer at any CAT scale. You can unhook after you weigh the rig and for $1 they will reweigh just the truck. I think you will be surprised at what your rig really weighs. Most people are.

I ordered my 2011 on the 23rd of July with the 20" wheels and the 11,500 lbs package. The highest for a SRW according to the brochure anyway. So I don't see why you could not get the 11,200 lbs package with the 20" wheels as well.
Go with the Ford better outfit in my opinion, plus the Fords are up to 400 hp and 800 ft lbs torque now after the update or a job 2 build. Also the Fords are better looking.
I do not currently own an 2011 yet, (cash flow says wait 6 months...), but I thought I would throw out my two cents anyway. I have am looking at the Chevy also but there are several problems. The Chevy is a decent truck but over the last several years, the interior and bodies do not appear to hold up as well. This is only a concern if you are going to keep the truck for an extended period. Both Ford and Chevy have symilar engine performance (Ford has a slight edge).
A real kicker for me involves the companies them selves. Ford is still an independant company. GM is owned primarily by the government and the unions, the share holders got the short end of the stick last spring. It would need to be a vastly superior product to overcome that for me. As both manufacturers build a good product (I still say Ford is better
), I cannot justify it. A bit of a personal opinion here, but something to consider.

That might make some sense if you couldn't get the 20" wheels with the fifth wheel option. Go figure.
