I guess this means that Ford doesn't have a problem with tuning the 6.7 for more power.

I called my salesman and he's going to call me when the new program is loaded into the dealer network. He said they wouldn't need the letter, they know I just bought it. He knows I'm dieing over here because I've got a truck pull Aug 20th. :-) :-) Get-Er-Done!

a salesman will not have a clue when we the techs get the calibration updates for the trucks.

Also sooke to an fse he said another 2% is expected in fuel economy too.

I'll hold out hope he'll get the notification. He got the notice that it was coming. Possibly because he also does dealer transfers of vehicles, and fleet trucks, he may be a little more connected than the average salesman.

What does FSE stand for? Ford Staff Engineer / Ford Service Engineer / ?????

OK, so call me pessimistic, but FSE is starting to sound a lot like Ford Sales Engineer. Better Hp, Tq, and MPG? This is starting to sound like it might also save the environment, clean up the oil spill, stop nuclear proliferation, and bring peace to the world.

I'm sorry, but the extensive research and testing in this motor just doesn't seem to fit with we can get more power and better fuel economy. Sure I can see some stupid reason Ford might hold back a bit on HP and TQ until the competition came out, but what would the reason be for holding back on MPG's?

theres a funny thing about diesels. you add power you add torque you wind up with lightly / slighlty better economy.
just the way a diesel works.

That is a fact. The best mileage I ever got with my 6.0 was running a 125 hp tune and soft pedaling it. Moe, have you heard of any trans issues yet? Big thread at Dieselstop about cold slippage issues. One poster said that Ford had stopped production. It is the only place I have seen it.

Regards

Still nothing on that. If that is in fact an issue thats a programing concern and not a trans issue.... or that would be my guess.
this may be being addressed with 10b17 as well as I see/hear more Ill let ya know.
