<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d1d1e1; COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1 itxtvisited="1"> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Hey guys just bought a 2004 F250 super <NOBR style="FONT-FAMILY: inherit; COLOR: darkblue; FONT-WEIGHT: bold" id=itxt_nobr_2_0>duty</NOBR> with the 6.0l. been good so far just have a few questions. what all do you suggest i do being i just bought it? change every fuild? filters? take some things off and clean them real well? also noticed it feels like it misses sometimes before it gets all the way up to opporating temp. its under light load in OD only, if it down shifts the vibration or miss goes away. I do have a few codes. i have 0261 cylinder 1 injector circuit low, 0266 cylinder 2 contribution/balance fault, 0528 fan speed sensor circuit no signal, 0611 FICM performance. looked at the voltages on the FICM. KOER i had 48v and stable and 14v and stable. does that sound normal? i also preformed the buzz test with the modis and there were no codes from that. Also there is a small vacuum conrolled device on the right side inner fender that has three wires going to it also. it has two vacuum lines to it. the vacuum lines are unplugged and the one is pluged. when i plug it in i notice i lose control of the door in the heater to direct airflow. when connected it just blows on defrost. any input of any of this?

Thanks

I would definitely address all of the recommended maintenance items so that you have a good baseline for the truck. Maintenance is essential to reliable performance with the 6.0L platform. You can download the owner's manual and recommended maintenance manual by clicking on the Glovebox tab at the link below if you don't already have them.

Also you might consider cleaning the EGR valve and installing a coolant filter.

If you bought it from a dealer, I would take it back and have them fix the problem free of charge. Should have come with at least a 30 day warranty. Sounds like a preexisting problem.

it was bought in the AS IS lot though. i tried having them fix the things i found, but they woudlnt budge. they have me a little off their asking price, but i dont think they made much money on it. im ganna clean the EGR or just research how much a delete kit would be. i hear thats a good thing to do is to delete the EGR

Fix the FICM yourself (thread in the Tech Folder) or buy one from SWAMPS.

ok on the 528 code 99 percent of the time its a fan clutch.
you need to address the misfire codes prior to worring about any egr issue. as this will casue egr faults.
you really need to look at ficm voltage while cranking the engine. then retest them at about 2000 rpm and see what you get.

is this turck a 4x4.
the thing on the passanger side fender is the vacuum pump. you have a leak somewere that is causing your issue.
if its a 4x4 you need to get a vacuum pump and start from the line that you pluged in that is making the defrost only fault.

thanks for the info. i think the fan is working ok considering its not over heating, not too worried about that. and same with EGR, im going to check the FICM first, just gatt read up on how to do it. why do i need to check it with the engine cranking and then with it at 2000RPM?

the fan may seem to be working right but as it loses the fanss signal it will have intermitant issues.
why check ficm voltage idle and 2000k rpm. that is the times they like to set the p0611 code.
