Got my v code springs installed last night, already seams to drive better raised it about 1.25". It actually sets about 1/2" higher in the back with the stock springs and RAS.
I am going to install the rear b codes this weekend... weather permitting. The B's I received from ford are a bit different looks like the modded b's already. I have a picture attached of spring front and rear part numbers just curious what i have and if i need to use the stock blocks or the 3.5 tapered (according to ford they are 3.65") This is NOT including the RAS i will play with it after to see what the springs do. Thanks
Also not sure what the upper leaf does it does not touch anything?!?!?!?!?
Part #3C3Z-5560-CB is the part number for the B code springs. Since the part number you have is Part #3C3Z-5560-CA, and the picture you've posted is a spring with an overload top spring, I'd assume your spring is the B code with an overload.
The B code part number ending in CB doesn't come with an overload spring.
Modded B's are only something produced by the end user by taking apart their OEM Excursion springs and adding certain pieces to the new B code spring.
You're not gaining any weight capacity with the springs, it just handles the weight better than your OEM springs, and gives you added height.
The overload spring doesn't add height. Your spacer block (tapered or OEM) goes between the axle and the bottom of the spring. The overload spring is just there to keep the spring from over-arching by contacting the bottom or the frame on big bumps.
You also may not need the 3-1/2" tapered blocks if you use RAS. The RAS will raise enough that the stock 2" blocks will be about right. The only problem is driveline angle--you might cause rear end vibration.
On my 05, I have been using rear non-modded "B" springs with RAS and 2" straight blocks.
