Anyone put flowmasters on a 4.0L ranger? My exhaust system is starting to rust through in some spots. And i can get a decent price on a flowmaster muffler. Does it sound good or is it gonna sound like a turd?
Never heard them on a ranger, but there's a guy in my neighbourhood who has them on an Explorer Sport Trac, which I believe has the same engine. His sounded pretty good...
I've actually been considering putting flowmasters on my 04 FX4, but haven't been able to scrounge up the cash yet. (that and the stock muffler is still fine)
I had a Flowmaster 40 series on my 97 Ranger for several years and it was terrific. I agree completely with grandmas77f150, it can be quieter when you need it, but if you really lay into it, it'll sound good.
What I did about a year ago was have my single inlet, dual outlet Flowmaster muffler replaced with a Y-pipe. Now it is always loud . . . not too loud . . . and sounds terrific. I love it.
If you do go with the Flowmaster though, I'd go with the regular Flowmaster, not the Delta-flow one. Just my .02
